BMI Gaming was happy to release its annual list of high-performing, celebration-worthy new arcade games that are hitting the streets this year. BMI works with The Stinger Report and Arcade Heroes, both headed by RePlay contributors, to determine the winners of the independent amusement products awards. Merit is judged solely by members of the amusement press and prominent arcade industry pioneers.
Amusement companies that were celebrated this year include Raw Thrills (three wins), UNIS (two wins), LAI Games (two wins) and others like Bandai Namco, Adrenaline Amusements, Coastal, Andamiro, Team Play and some others given a single BOSA award.
The sixth annual BOSA awards was more competitive than ever, with a lot of games filling the competitive field. Winners of awards should feel an extra spark of pride, for they went up against the highest number of contenders to date, and were judged by what organizers say was the most distinguished judging panel yet.
Qualifying products must have been reviewed at 2016’s IAAPA Expo, and shipped out by summer this year. Some highlights of the winners include The Walking Dead Arcade winning a gold medal for video arcade game, followed by World’s Fastest Drummer and Cruis’n Blast. Crazy Tower Arcade won gold for best video redemption, with Space Invader’s Frenzy following it up. Andamiro’s Baseball Pro took home gold for best arcade redemption game, followed by LAI’s two hits: Let’s Bounce and HYPERShoot.
