An amendment to the bylaws of the AAMA’s charitable foundation (AAMCF) has been proposed that would expand the number of seats on its board of directors from 10 to 15. It was suggested at the foundation’s last board meeting that such a move would beneficial to its charitable work by allowing more interested industry members to actively participate.
For those not up to date with the work of the AAMA’s charitable arm, the AAMCF has reportedly donated over $1.5 million dollars to more than 120 worthy charities (most of which support children). Last year, the AAMCF created the Richard J. Oltmann Scholarship, which recently granted its first $5,000 Scholarship to Emilia Goetsch.
Amendments to the AAMCF Bylaws require a 60-day notice to all voting AAMA members followed by a “yes” vote of not less than two thirds of the AAMCF board. All voting AAMA members are asked to comment on the proposed changes by emailing AAMCF Board President David Cohen or AAMA Executive VP Pete Gustafson by Friday, Aug. 4, 2017.
