The AMOA National Dart Association (NDA) will be moving the date and place of its Team Dart tournament next year, scheduling it for May 3-9, 2018, at the Paradise Events Center in the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. (For those not in the know, the NDA is the AMOA-affiliated dart association formed by and for coin machine operators to promote the sport of electronic darting.)
So why relocate Team Dart? The association’s Jack Kelleher points to four main reasons:
– Players will find a lower hotel room rate — $83 plus tax
– No resort fees (Team Dart attendees will receive complimentary wireless internet in their guest rooms)
– No parking fees for tournament players staying at hotel
– One, united tournament floor
Located just off the famed Las Vegas Strip, Westgate is just three miles from Fremont Street (about a $7 ride via Uber or Lyft). The hotel is also a destination on the monorail, which services several hotels on the Strip.
“We are excited about this change, as it provides direct savings to our customers,” said NDA President Shawn Smith. “We continue to listen to our players and this move shows the willingness to respond to better serve their interests.”
No plans have been finalized for Team Dart beyond 2018. NDA has a written agreement with Bally’s Las Vegas for future years through 2022, but opted to exercise its cancellation clause for 2018 with the goal of enhancing the experience for players, spectators and all involved through NDA.
The association’s leadership will soon be reviewing its options for future years’ Team Dart tournaments. In the meantime, mark your calendars for May 3-9, 2018, at Westgate Las Vegas.
