The annual gadget bonanza that is CES has ended, and firms that were present quickly lauded the innovative tech that beguiled and bewildered the diverse crowds filling the Las Vegas Convention Center. UNIS and Calinfer were there to hawk Calinfer’s Atari PONG Table, which UNIS is manufacturing and distributing, and a new consumer-focused piece from UNIS.
The companies say attendees were fascinated by the PONG Table, the flagship product of the collaboration between UNIS and Calinfer, and Bowl Master. The PONG Table first made its appearance at IAAPA last November, while Bowl Master is UNIS’ first new product of 2018 (expected release in April or May).
“The booth was constantly packed with players of all ages who wanted to give the games a try,” said Debbie Gonzalez, UNIS’ USA sales manager.
When it comes to that cool PONG Table, the focus – for now – is on the consumer market though UNIS account exec Karen Yea says a coin-op version is on the horizon (September of this year is the target). Bowl Master, a ”natural successor” to UNIS’ coin-op Lane Master, is the home version of the video bowler and is lighter and more compact. The game allows for up to six players to compete and comes with high score rankings.
According to Gonzalez, a few unexpected and well known faces popped into the combined booth to test out the PONG Table including seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry and Atari CEO Fred Chesnais (pictured above).
“This is the very first time we have exhibited the Bowl Master and the response for this consumer version has been very successful!” said Gonzalez.
