A newer face in the VR scene is Hyperverse, a company purporting to provide full immersion, free-roam VR solutions for the location-based entertainment industry. The company was among many others at this year’s Amusement Expo, and is currently running a full series of demos in L.A. and San Francisco.
Hyperverse says its out-of-the-box VR is powered by a proprietary inside-out tracking system, which replaces expensive and hard to calibrate cameras with “passive infrastructure.” The company says this allows for up to a 12,000 sq. ft. gaming area.
“Our mission is to democratize expensive VR products for mass-market LBE adoption and make VR arcade experiences affordable to consumers. We believe that a true LBE VR experience should cost as much as a cinema ticket, and we are making that possible” said Roman Mikhailov, Hyperverse co-founder and CEO.
