Incredible Technologies will begin shipping Golden Tee 2017 on Sept. 26. This is the latest software update for the successful golfing franchise, and it will make its way across the country to thousands of Golden Tee operators. Those who currently own Golden Tee games are encouraged to contact IT to reserve their place in the first shipment. Those with older Golden Tee games or none at all can order dedicated Showpiece cabinets, complete kits as well as Showpiece transfer cabinets designed to convert older CRT model games.
Golden Tee 2017 will introduce five new 18-hole courses, bringing the total count of Golden Tee courses to 60. New online game formats will also be introduced, and I.T. hopes these will broaden the appeal of the game to both experienced and casual players. Closest to the Pin, a popular 9-hole game, is now available to play casually offline and online for prizes and stats.
The update also introduces Player Invitational, a new way for customers to compete against their friends in private contests. Players set up and invite friends through the GT Caddy phone app, and then go on to play on any updated commercial Golden Tee.
“Players and game owners have been asking for a way to compete remotely against friends for a while now,” said Amusements Division VP Don Pesceone. “The combination of our player verification initiative last year and continual improvements of the GT Caddy app make a friends list and private contest system possible.”
Finally, the update will bring a host of customization options for players hoping to make their in-game character and equipment unique.
Operators who pre-order the update will be automatically entered into I.T.’s AwesomeDraw contest with a chance to win a brand new Showpiece game, kits, transfer cabinets and other prizes.
