LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Boston has a new VR experience, a collaboration between U.K.-based immersive entertainment pros Immotion and global visitor attractions giant Merlin Entertainment. The deal sees Immotion deliver a brand new LEGO-themed VR Experience, The Great LEGO Race. The ride officially opened this weekend (Saturday, May 12.)
The attraction is designed specifically for children between 3 and 10 years old, and takes guests on a VR-augmented roller coaster race. See the video above of a similar experience that opened at LEGOLAND’s Florida resort for a POV look at the excitement.
Martin Higginson, executive chairman of Immotion, said, “It demonstrates the kind of high-quality VR experiences we can develop on behalf of our partners. We are proud of the immersive technology behind the pod and we believe it will boost the great family fun already on offer. This is arguably Immotion’s highest-profile VR experience so far and shows that out-of-home VR is increasingly becoming a major part of the worldwide attractions and experiences industry.”
