If you live in the San Francisco Bay area or in Metropolitan New York, you’re in the right place to see a documentary called The Lost Arcade. According to Gold Coast International’s Marc Haim, it’s a film about the nostalgic Chinatown Fair which he says is the last “traditional arcade” left in NYC. Located on Mott Street in Chinatown, it’s reopened after six years in limbo thanks to Marc’s customer Lonnie Sobel. The film, which gives the history of this old game center in Lower Manhattan, was made by Kurt Vincent and Irene Chin.
It opens in SFO Aug. 5 and 6 at the Little Roxie theater and then from Aug. 12 to 18 in NYC’s Metrograph Theater (located at 7 Ludlow Street in Manhattan; call 212-660-0312 for directions.) Marc also sent us a photo of a little girl playing a game there that uses a live chicken. We don’t remember seeing that one at the IAAPA. Do you?
