Shown at last week’s Bowl Expo, QubicaAMF Worldwide recently launched its latest pinspotter, the EDGE String.
They call it “the next generation of string pinspotter technology, packaging revolutionary electromechanical design and intelligent software into a pinspotter that makes it possible for any center to deliver the fun of bowling, with peace of mind and at a very low operating cost.”
The pinspotter technology also comes with a Tech Wizard app, which notifies and guides the operator. “In about an hour, your staff will learn to use EDGE String and they will receive guidance from Tech Wizard, making operation even easier,” said Neil Pennington, director of performance equipment for QubicaAMF.
One of the product’s first installations belongs to Darrin Skinner, owner of Lake Wylie Bowl N’ Bounce near Charlotte, N.C., who reported he’s saving around $45,000 a year in spare parts and labor across 16 lanes after switching from his old, stress-inducing pinspotters (he said bowling was 30 percent of his facility’s revenue, but those old pinspotters cost him more than 50 percent of his facility maintenance cost).
